A modern bohemian family home in Toronto

A much needed colour injection for a rather gloomy rain-filled week. This family home in Toronto was designed by Sam Sacks, who created a vibrant liveable space for a young family, with a bit of her signature bohemian flair and little nods to the family's South African background.

The space feels fresh and modern in a light, neutral palette, but accents like the rich suzani tapestries and woven rug make it feel cheerful and inviting.

This branch based table is so beautiful - I love how everything else in the space is kept quite 'quiet' to allow its silhouette to really be noticed.

A richly coloured kilim rug and the warm wood tones are balanced with the all white walls and the light and airy capiz chandelier above, for a look that's still bright and fresh.

The clean lines of this built in cabinetry are the perfect contrast to the rustic dining table and chairs, and the rich textiles in the space. They also provide the perfect spot to display beautiful treasures.

As it is throughout the space, everything is kept in perfect balance in this little dining room vignette - clear sleek lucite and glass juxtaposed with the natural wood tones of the woven basket and vintage wine rack.
