Starting off Monday with a calm and serene space in all white, and soft, natural tones. This Hamptons cottage designed by James Huniford. The space feels comfortable and soothing with a consistent neutral palette throughout and a subtle mix of different styles - classic elements, with some midcentury modern elements mixed with rustic, natural elements.
The design team removed the existing ceiling exposing the beams underneath - then added more to create an outstanding architectural feature.
An all white cottage can start to feel sterile, says the designer, but the beige and blue grey colour palette of the space lends to a 'soothing sense of understated elegance'.
The reclaimed wood and plumbing pipe add a bit of a rustic touch to this primarily all white space.
They created an open concept space where the living and dining space easily flow into each other.
The dining area with its upholstered seating looks comfortable and inviting. I love the blacked iron base on this pedestal table, which ties in perfectly with some of the more rustic elements - like the weathered wood sliding barn door. The vintage Brigitte Bardot print adds a bit of cool edge to this calm and neutral space. (You can find a small size of this print here on eBay)
This vintage industrial chandelier adds a bit of edge to this otherwise soft and neutral space in soft grey and beige tones, with little hints of lilac. Little details like the leather pull handles on the cupboards continue that rustic element from the lower level.
The brass hardware on the nightstands adds a little hint of glamour. Love the combination with the earthy ceramics.
A crisp all white bathroom master bathroom complete with vintage clawfoot tub is kept simple with little distraction or adornment.
A nursery in soft cream tones is a serene retreat with a plush upholstered daybed to be enjoyed by both baby and adults. The midcentury rocker is a little unexpected mix but fits beautifully and carries on the mix found throughout the rest of the home.
