The forgotten neutral: pale pink

I was recently invited to an event held by CIL Paints to celebrate the launch of their new Ask an Expert service - a great new resource that allows you to contact their resident paint experts with any technical or colour related questions to help with their projects. During the event, they also shared their new colour forecasts for the year ahead, and their pick for the new colour of the year is Chemise Pink- a very soft blush tone. Immediately my thoughts went to my friend the talented designer and blogger Christine Dovey. Christine has an unabashed love for soft pinks and uses this shade in many of her projects. Christine has referred to pink as the "forgotten neutral" as it really goes with everything.

In a recent project below, Christine transformed a rather unexciting beige living area into a dramatic yet very elegant space. Soft pink panelled walls contrast with dramatic black sculptural pieces and balance out the masculine and feminine within the space. Edgy art from Citizen Atelier and New York based designer and photographer Nicole Cohen really make the space feel fun and fresh.

Watch a complete tour of the space along with Christine's story on how it all came together here
