It's a long weekend here in Canada. The last official long weekend of the summer before Labour Day. I'd like to keep that relaxed summer holiday feeling going as long as possible. I had bookmarked the Tramuntana Hotel some time back and have come back to it a few times since. This charming little hotel is based in the old fishing town of Cadaqués, Spain, known for its "bohemian atmosphere and cosmopolitan spirit" that has long attracted many artists, painters and writers. With just eleven rooms, it has a quaint and intimate atmosphere, very simply decorated throughout in all white and shades of steel blue, with just a natural wood or woven pieces and black details. This minimal palette makes the space feel soothing and relaxing and illustrates how, like the previous post on Michelle Lloyd's Canadian summer cottage, you can achieve a bigger statement and high style by just keeping things very simple. Looks like a perfect place to spend a long weekend away.
