The past couple weeks have been a flurry of activity - we revealed a sneak peak of the newly redesigned Pavilion store on Gladstone Ave in Toronto in an installation hosted for Mason Studio in Toronto's Design Offsite Festival.

Mason's exhibit featured ethereal large scale clouds that 'floated' throughout the space and lit up as you walked by.

One of the most striking features of the new store is the new wood feature wall. It was a labour of love, done by hand with individual wood blocks that create a rather spectacular display, if I do say so myself. I'm happy to report that I even put a few of these blocks up myself.

I think my most favourite pieces in the new store are the handmade brass light fixtures and the sculptural little wall pieces - perfect for a fun and atypical art display at home. Can't wait till there are a few of them floating above my sofa.

The exhibit was best seen at night when the glow of the clouds would draw you in from across the street.

Immediately following the exhibit, was a quick dash to the Toronto and New York Gift Fairs both brimming with inspiring ideas and beautiful creations. Of course, in New York, much of the best inspiration is found out on the streets and in the shops, and so an 'inspiration gathering' trip to SoHo is always a must. One of my all time favourite neighbourhoods for window watching, whether they be the impressive shop window displays, or the windows of the lust-worthy lofts above.

Absolutely love the bright, saturated colour in these pretty pillows from Calypso Home.

Spectacular lighting at Ochre

A charming gallery wall in Kate Spade.

Incredible faceted pendant lights by Bec Brittain in Matter (more on these later!)

A very charming cafe in SoHo.

Bright citrus and so many yummy treats to be found at Dean and Deluca. (Have to admit, my acquisition of the Brooklyn Blackout Cake was likely not as healthy, although doubly delicious.)

Until next time  - Farewell Manhattan!
