I've recently been debating a lovely sculptural armchair in a upholstered in a charcoal wool. While I was thinking about the possibilities for other pieces if I include this chair, I immediately started limiting myself to a grey palette - until I saw this space by the Rees Roberts firm. Strikingly simple but oh, so luxurious. I love how they've paired burnished shades of camel and caramel with dark pewter and charcoal. The combination was a little unexpected to me, and my mind has now been swirling with possibilities.
I've been a little obsessed with this space (and this firm!) since discovering it at a favourite blog not too long ago. To me it really defines modern luxury. Luxurious plush velvets in simple modern forms, clean lines with little embellishment or detailing and neutral all white walls. Even with 'heavier' upholstery, the space feels light and open. This feeling is beautifully complimented by the airy sculptural pieces and and bright windows. Each element in the space from the lighting, to mirrors, to the thick Lucite coffee table seem to have been so thoughtfully selected with restrained good taste. The results are just stunning - unfussy, modern glamour.
