Warm butternut tones for Autumn

Nothing feels better on a chilly autumn evening than coming home to the soothing warmth of rich autumn tones and flavours. The soft warmth of butternut and caramel shades just have a sense of comfort and solace. The rustic harvest table and woven baskets further the feeling of autumn, contrasted with clean modern lines, big windows and fresh white prevent it from becoming too cottagey or outdated.  To me its the perfect balance.

One of the things I look forward to most about this season is the chance to enjoy a little bit extra of one of my favourite things - warm, delicate butternut squash. Especially in the form of rich, creamy soups. Try this recipe for butternut soup served with orange spiced cashews to bring a little extra comfort to your table.

P.S. Another favourite food-inspired fall palette  - Toffee + Cream

Wishing you comfort and warmth this holiday weekend!

I love how richly decorated your life is. Not just in the photos you find, but also in your mind I know there are color combinations everywhere.

I have always been a big fan of warm neutrals like straw, camel, caramel, butterscotch, and nutmeg. The examples you give also have a wonderful freshness, a bright version of autumn.
